EEG’s Tyrell Pyramid miniature designed by Tom Cranham under the supervision of Douglas Trumbull. The actual size of the Tyrell Pyramid was suposed to be anywhere from 600 to 900 stories tall which was transformed on a pyramid model in scale of 1/750 - one foot on the model equaled 750 feet in reality which gave model size of two and a half feet high, with a nine-foot base.

UPDATE: Thank you to whoever pointed out that this was mislabelled. This is actually a page from Chuck Palahniuk’s notebook (see source). DeLillo’s Libra manuscript is scheduled to run tomorrow. Much thanks again!

In China, Human Costs Are Built Into an iPad

The explosion ripped through Building A5 on a Friday evening last May, an eruption of fire and noise that twisted metal pipes as if they were discarded straws.

When workers in the cafeteria ran outside, they saw black smoke pouring from shattered windows. It came from the area where employees polished thousands of iPad cases a day.

Two people were killed immediately, and over a dozen others hurt. As the injured were rushed into ambulances, one in particular stood out. His features had been smeared by the blast, scrubbed by heat and violence until a mat of red and black had replaced his mouth and nose.

President George W. Bush holds the badge of a police officer killed in the September attacks.

“It is the police shield of a man named George Howard, who died at the World Trade Center trying to save others. It was given to me by his mom, Arlene, as a proud memorial to her son.”

According to old Icelandic folk tales, trolls can only travel at night, much like vampires (This is probably hereditary, vampires and trolls likely share a bloodline). As the story goes, once the first rays of sun shine on a trolls skin, it will turn to stone.

The strongest argument in support of these tales are various lava/rock formations that take an eerily troll-like shape in the whimsical autumn dusk, or the summer fog.

Looking at this photo, it is easy to see a group of trolls, having been caught out after light, and paying the ultimate prize.
